"Short Term Memory in School Age Children"Abstract of a paper by Andrew P. ThompsonSchool age children all have different levels of short-term memory. In this experiment the level of short-term memory was tested by how old the students were. The experiment was set up to prove whether older students have better short-term memory than younger students. Children were tested with a display board that displayed pictures and words to match them. Children were also tested briefly with only pictures, and only words. However, with the amount of time allotted, there was not enough time to finish this testing. It was proven that as students progressed in age, their short-term memory was better. When the students got to the ages of 11 - 14 years, their short-term memory seemed to be fairly consistent. Advisor: C. Waller, Coleman Preparatory School.
