"Teaching Methodology and Mathematic Attainment"

Abstract of a paper by Anh Q. Pham

I discovered a new way of learning mathematics when I go to the new school. I decided to do an experiment to see which method would help students learn or teachers teach. I came up with two methods. One is allowing students to do an activity and explain to them about Graphing X and Y axises. The other is to give them a lecture and explain to them in class.

I gave them a pre-tests on both methods and conduct my lessons then I'll give them the post-test. I randomly picked out 20 tests from pre-test and post-test to find the average score. I graphed the data and find the percentage of improvement.

The result showed that the method with an activity helped students learned more. My conclusion is that students were able to use life images from the activity and applied it to the teacher lecture. It helps them to understand it more and faster.
